L-Wedge Off Tight Fairways

If you're a sand-wedge distance from the flag, but on a firm part of the fairway, switch to a more lofted L-wedge. The L-wedge's sharper leading edge and limited bounce area will help you dig down into the extra-firm, dried-out turf. The lob wedge is more lofted than the sand wedge. Therefore, the ball will fly higher and not as far. Make a fuller swing to make up for the loss in yardage.
