Butch's Biography

Butch Harmon (born August 28, 1943) is a renowned American golf instructor and former professional player. He was introduced to golf by his father, Claude Harmon Sr., winner of the 1948 Masters Tournament.

Butch played professionally on the PGA Tour from 1969 to 1971, capturing the 1971 B.C. Open championship. After his playing career, he turned to coaching and built a reputation as one of the sport's leading teachers.

He is President of the Butch Harmon School of Golf in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he runs instructional programs and participates in corporate and charity golf events across the country.

Teaching Excellence

His clients have included Tiger Woods (1993-2004), Phil Mickelson (2007-2015), Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Fred Couples, Adam Scott, Justin Leonard, and Mark Calcavecchia. His students have won more than 60 PGA and Champions Tour victories combined, with multiple victories at the Masters, U.S. Open, PGA Championship, and other major tournaments.

Mr. Harmon was named the 1995 Sports Illustrated Teacher of the Year and has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as the Golf Digest #1 Instructor over many years. His instructional career now spans more than 50 years.
