Butch's Biography

Butch Harmon has been involved in the golf arena for over 42 years. As the father of 1948 Masters Champion, the late Claude Harmon, a renowned golfer and professional, Butch was introduced him to the game.

Harmon followed in his father's footsteps by becoming an accomplished player on the collegiate level in the 1960s and early 1970s. He turned professional in 1971.

Currently, Harmon is the President of Butch Harmon Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. He runs instructional schools around the country playing in corporate and charity golf outings.

Teaching Excellence

Harmon is a leading teacher of golf and has taught the Tour's top players. Over the years, Harmon's instruction has covered the Masters, U.S. Open, PGA Championship and TOUR Championship. He has coached players on several PGA TOUR wins, including Tiger Woods, Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Fred Couples, Adam Scott, Justin Leonard, and Mark Calcavecchia. Mr. Harmon's students have won more than 60 PGA and Champions Tour victories combined.

Mr. Harmon was named the 1995 Sports Illustrated Teacher of the Year and was selected by his peers as the Golf Digest #1 Instructor.

Founded and built the school into a premier global golf-instruction business in Henderson, Nevada. The school has expanded internationally with locations in Dubai and Florida, becoming one of the most recognized elite instruction facilities in the world.
